About The Film

If you sleep, you become one of them. News reports tell of an earth-shattering sound heard along the entire East Coast. Nobody knows where it came from. Nobody knows what it means. That night, people start walking in their sleep. And killing in their sleep. When the screaming stops and the blood dries up, the ones who are left have to work together to stay alive. Heads will roll, eyeballs will fly, but for EDGAR, hell is still just other people. His ex-wife, his parents and all his neighbors are hiding out at his house. And they're even worse than the flesh-eating sleepwalkers.

Review

First, I am extremely happy that I had the opportunity to view the screener of this film pre release. Horror comedy is not the easiest sub-genre to be successful in. They are on opposite sides of the spectrum. There has to be the perfect mix to keep fans of both interested. Sleep. Walk. Kill. has done just that. A strange noise, followed by a neighbor trying to kill another neighbor sets the tone for this movie. People begin to realize that once they fall asleep they sleep, walk, and kill. A very nice spin on your typical zombie style film. Once they wake up they have no recollection of what they have done. This movie starts off with some solid comedy followed by its first kill. Best way to start if you ask me. Throughout the film there are some very funny one liners and comments. You really have to chuckle out loud. Once the killing starts Edgar (Bill Reick) is found held up in his home. Besides the sleeping dead lurking he has another huge issue. He is stuck in his home (basement) with his ex-wife, family, and neighbors. He gives off the vibe that he may be better off fighting for his life on the outside. There are definitely some "I've been there" moments throughout the dialogue that you have to appreciate. Edgar really is the glue that makes this movie great. The other actors do their part to sell the horror and comedy aspect so I am not taking anything away form them, but the regular person who is stuck in a "rut" can definitely relate to the main character.

There are several scenes in the film where all the "survivors" are sitting in Edgars house talking. This really is the definition of the sub genre. What comes next is what you would expect. Survival, don't die, stay awake, and figure out how to stay among the living. I will warn you .... you have to pay attention. There is a lot going on in this one. Tensions flare and the safe space becomes a mess. The numbers start to dwindle as the normal become sleepwalking killers. You will miss some funny stuff should you drift away for a second. Get invested in this one. I don't want to add any spoilers here since you should be watching this, but the end really seals the deal for me. The final scene closes out and you realize there would not have been a better way for this film to end.

Overall I really enjoyed the movie. Some may disagree, but they probably do not appreciate this type of film. I tend to be drawn towards the obscure and odd. This one also has replay value. On November 4 keep your eyes open for this one streaming on Amazon, Google Play, Apple TV, Vudu, Microsoft and many others. Thanks again Terror Films for another solid movie. You won't be disappointed.
